Translation memory systems (TMS) are software which support translators in their work. The save translations for each language pair in segments. This creates a Translation Memory (TM). TMS are used as a modern aid, used to ensure consistency between translations as well as reducing costs and delivery times.
A CAT tool is the same as a TMS. CAT stands for ‘Computer Aided Translation’.
No. All of our translations are produced by real translators. We avoid using Machine Translation. However, we do of course work with TMS (Translation Memory Systems).
No. Here at Berlin Translate we continuously create a TM for you without you having to ask us to do so. You won’t be getting any extra bills. In fact, you may even pay less.
Machine translations with post-editing aren’t completely automated translations performed by computer programs. They are reviewed by the best for the job (aka a translator) for correctness, comprehensibility and technical terminology and changed when necessary. The translation itself is produced by highly developed software and is ready in no time.
Yes. Due to the fact the initial texts are translated produced by a translation machine or program; they are ready much earlier. In a translation carried out by a human, the transfer of texts from one language to another takes the most time. The editing process needs time too.
